Delete your Simpatico account
You can delete your Simpatico account and its data at any time, from the app or by email.
In the app (fastest)
- Open Simpatico and sign in.
- Go to Settings and scroll to the bottom.
- Tap Delete account.
- Type DELETE and tap Delete.
Deletion happens immediately and can't be undone. You're signed out on that phone and its offline copy of your data is erased.
By email
If you can't open the app, email support@simpaticoapp.com with the subject “Delete my Simpatico account” from the email address you sign in with (or tell us which address it is if you used Apple's Hide My Email). We may ask you to confirm the request, then delete the account within 30 days and reply when it's done.
What is deleted
- Your account: name, email address, profile picture, colour and time zone.
- Your sign-in links and tokens. We also ask Google to revoke Simpatico's access to your Google account.
- Stored iCloud and CalDAV app-specific passwords.
- Your connected calendars and all events synced from them, including phone calendars and calendar links.
- Your devices and push tokens, notification settings, quiet hours and reminders.
- Your daily-question answers, the questions you wrote for your partner, and nudges you sent or received.
- If you were on your own (not paired), your whole shared calendar: plans, lists, countdowns, special dates and everything else in it.
What is kept, and for how long
- If your partner stays, they keep the shared calendar and what you made together: shared plans, lists and list items, countdowns, special dates and comments. Your name is removed from your comments, but the shared history may still mention your first name in entries such as “Alex added milk”. This stays until your partner deletes it or their own account.
- Simpatico Plus purchase records (product, store, dates, refunds), linked only to your former account ID, for accounting and tax and to handle refunds and transfers. If you bought Plus, your partner keeps it. The purchase itself stays with your Apple or Google account, so you can restore it if you sign up again.
- Backups and logs: deleted data is removed from our hosting provider's database backups within 30 days, and server logs are kept for a short time, typically days.
- Emails you sent to support are kept for as long as needed to answer them, then deleted.
Deleting only some data
- A calendar: Settings, then Calendars; disconnecting it deletes its synced events from Simpatico.
- Google access: remove Simpatico at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- Your partner link: Settings, then Leave shared calendar.
